QuestionHow do I determine the offsets between timescales in SecureSync or NetClock 9400?
AnswerLogin to the web-based user interface and navigate to Management > Time Management. You can view the difference between the UTC and GPS and TAI timescales in the offset pane.
On July 21, 2016, the UTC offsets are 17 seconds and 36 seconds for GPS and TAI respectively.
Some GPS receivers erroneously activated the December 31, 2016 leap second message on July 19, 2016, but in normal operation, there is no need to adjust the UTC offsets if you are using GPS as a timing reference. Several other timing messages can transfer leap second information including network time protocols like NTP and PTP.
If you are using a timing system without a reference, or synchronizing to a reference which lacks leap second information, you can manually update the offsets in the configuration.
